NFL: Ex-Beavers receiver Houshmandzadeh signs with Ravens
OWINGS MILLS, Md. The Baltimore Ravens upgraded their receiving corps again by agreeing to terms Monday with former Oregon State standout T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
To make room for Houshmandzadeh on the roster, the Ravens traded wide receiver Mark Clayton to the St. Louis Rams for an undisclosed draft pick. Clayton, drafted 22nd overall by Baltimore in the 2005 draft, ranks third in Ravens history with 234 career catches and 3,116 yards.

A look back at how steamboats helped shape our history
In 1861 while Captain Jerome piloted his steamboat, the Elk, just below the mouth of the Yamhill River, his boiler suddenly exploded. Force from the blast propelled him straight up through the roof of the pilot house and into a large cottonwood tree. From this perch, dazed, he saw his boat still afloat. A bit bruised and scrapped, Jerome shimmied down the tree and returned to his boat, which was intact minus a boiler to run the engine. He was lucky to be to be live.

Gorgeous prelaw student Marti scorns her university's cheerleading squad, but suddenly she needs to join the squad to keep her all-important scholarship. As luck would have it, Marti (Aly Michalka) was a gymnastics champ in high school. "Hellcats" is one part youth melodrama, one part "Glee" in skimpy spandex.
